An institution builder, now building a healthcare brand
Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Lohia joins Aesthetics Redefined by Cocoona as Chairman and Managing Director after nearly four decades spent conceiving, setting up and running some of the country's most complex public institutions. As Managing Director and CEO of the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation, he led the redevelopment of railway stations into 24x7 city hubs, and earlier, as a senior official in the Ministry of Urban Development, he authored India's first National Urban Transport Policy and National Metro Rail Policy, formulated urban bus specifications (UBS-1 & 2) that you see across cities through modern city buses and conceived the National Common Mobility Card that today rides on every RuPay debit card issued in the country.
His career reads less like a single job and more like a track record of building things that outlast any one leader. Over 38 years he has set up or scaled seven organisations from the ground up, sat on the boards of the metro rail corporations of Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Kochi, and served, most recently, as Senior Advisor for Rail, Urban Mobility and E-mobility at the World Bank's India office, where he worked on financing frameworks for the Delhi-Gurugram-SNB regional rail corridor and the Gurugram metro. A Chevening Gurukul Fellow in Leadership and Governance from King's College London, he completed his Ph.D. on sustainable urban transport at IIT Delhi, the same institute where he earlier topped his undergraduate class in Civil Engineering.
